Welcome to the Drones and LiDAR for Mapping Workshop!

The purpose of this workshop is to give background information on how unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) and laser/LiDAR scanning technologies can be used to create a variety of geospatial data. You will also be introduced to UAV and LiDAR resourcesavailable from the Clemson Center for Geospatial Technologies (CCGT).

Bythe end of this workshop, you will have gained a basic understanding of:

• What UAVs and LiDAR are and theirutility for research and education
• Regulatory framework andregulations around use of UAV and LiDAR
• Resources available from the Centerfor Geospatial Technologies
• Basic familiarity with processingimages from UAVs into geospatial data products
• Introduce you to processing laserscans into a final product
