Story Maps for World Regional Geography

This session introduces you to creating story maps with ArcGIS Online. ArcGIS Online is a collaborative web GIS platform that allows you to use, create, and share maps, 3D models, GIS apps, layers, analytics and GIS data. With ArcGIS Online you get access to ESri's secure cloud, where not only you can add your data and publish it online, but you also get access to ready-to-use maps, data and template apps.

A story map is a web application which combines maps with narrative text, images, and other multimedia. It is a powerful communication tool to share your work with a broad audience. Story maps exist for a huge variety of topics and research areas, but they all have geography as a component of the narrative.

In this session we will cover the following topics:

- Accessing ArcGIS Online with your Clemson ID
- Creating basic interactive web maps with ArcGIS Online.
- Adding data from the Living Atlas to your map.
- Creating a story map to show your results.
